Powerhouse Study Group Gathering - July 11th

Weekly Affirmation

I am knowing and affirming and celebrating the truth, that the wisdom and love of that Infinite One emerge and grow in fun and surprising and sudden and awesome ways. I am knowing God in all the movements and actions and situations and conditions that form our lives and the shared life of this empowered, inspired and energized community. I am seeing it all clearly as divine, and divinely ordered, and I give thanks for being in the flow of it all. And so it is!

Gathering Format

A dozen of us met this week and agreed that the Powerhouse Study Group (our new name; we've been approved to organize ourselves separately from our former sponsoring community, Light on the Mountains in Ketchum) will alternate between formal talks and informal discussions. Rev. Roya will continue to speak the first and third Sundays of every month. Second, fourth and fifth Sundays will feature more informal and intimate study groups and discussions.  This week will be our study group week, and we will use the time to discuss recent changes and allow for everyone to share their thoughts on a personal or community level. We invite your involvement as we refine and develop our programs; as a study group, we try to make changes on a consensus basis, and we welcome your input!

Gathering Location

For anyone who was not able to attend the organizing meeting, the group has decided to gather at the Idaho Human Rights Memorial for the month of July. This is an outdoor location so we will be able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. There are cement benches, so you may want to bring a cushion and umbrella to shade from the sun. We are not set up with our usual children's program during our summer outdoors series; children are invited to join adults for talks and discussions as families wish. Meeting time will still be 10 am.

Here are a few helpful links in locating the memorial area:

Map of the Memorial area - We will meet in one of the reading areas.

Street map - The memorial is located near the Boise Library.  There is parking available at the library or all around the memorial.  8th and Battery are the closest cross streets.

By August, we expect to again have an indoor location that we can call home! Thank you for your patience as we have moved through this time of change. Please come in support of, and to be supported by, this community of loving and dedicated seekers of truth.
